Elsie Kiguli-Malwadde

Elsie Kiguli-Malwadde is the Deputy Executive Director of the African Centre for Global Health and Social Transformation (ACHEST) and the former Director of the Medical Education Partnership Initiative (MEPI) at ACHEST. A radiologist by training, she previously served as an Associate Professor and Head of the Radiology Department at Makerere University, Uganda. 


She holds an MBChB and an MMed in Radiology from Makerere University, as well as a Master’s in Health Professions Education from Maastricht University, Netherlands. She is a Fellow of the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER), Philadelphia, USA, and a Fellow in Ultrasound from Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, USA. 


Dr. Kiguli-Malwadde is the immediate past Secretary General of The Network: Towards Unity for Health (TUFH) and past President of the African Forum for Research and Education in Health (AFREhealth). With over 25 years of experience in Health Professions Education, she has authored more than 80 publications in the field, including Radiology. 

In recognition of her contributions, she received the 2024 Distinguished Leadership Award from the Consortium of Universities of Global Health (CUGH) at its conference in Los Angeles, USA.
