Dr. Marvin Jansen

Dr. Marvin Jansen holds a PhD in Health Science Education from the University of Cape Town, where he currently serves as the Head of Division at the Clinical Skills Centre. A passionate educator and researcher, Dr. Jansen is dedicated to advancing healthcare simulation as a pedagogical tool across Africa. As the founding director of the African Simulation Network, Dr. Jansen has fostered collaboration, networking, and research within the healthcare simulation community across Africa.

 

In recognition of his leadership and academic excellence, Dr. Jansen was recently awarded the prestigious Harvard South Africa Fellowship and the South African Health Excellence Award. His work extends beyond academia into community engagement, with initiatives like his TikTok and YouTube channel aimed at reducing barriers to higher education for high school learners and his involvement in career guidance for students across South Africa. Dr. Jansen’s dedication to transformation and innovation in health sciences education continues to shape the future of healthcare training and professional development in Africa and beyond.
