Dr. Felicia Christians

Dr. Felicia Christians is an experienced family physician, educator, and public health advocate. With a career spanning over 40 years, she has worked across clinical practice, medical education, and healthcare regulation. As Associate Deanat the University of Namibia (UNAM) School of Medicine, she provides academic leadership and oversees research, resource management, and international collaborations. She has also been instrumental in developing a postgraduatefamily medicine program aimed at improving healthcare delivery in underserved communities.


Dr. Christians holds a Master of Medicine in Family Medicine (University of Cape Town), a Master of Public Health (University of Umeå, Sweden), a Fellowship from the College of Family Physicians of South Africa (FCFP), and a Postgraduate Diploma in HIV Management from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa. She has been involved in training future healthcare professionals at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has also contributed to curriculum development and review at the School of Medicine.


Dr. Christians' expertise extends beyond Namibia. She has facilitated international partnerships and served as anexternal examiner for various medical schools. She is also the President of the Namibian Academy of Family Physicians, the President of the Consortium of New Sub-Saharan African Medical Schools (CONSAMS), and a member of the Medical and Dental Council of Namibia, where she serves on several subcommittees.


Dr. Christians’ work is driven by her deep passion for medical education, improving healthcare delivery, and her ongoing commitment to supporting future healthcare professionals.
