Professor Erero F. NJIENGWE is a clinician‑psychopathologist recognized for his expertise in mental health care and interdisciplinary medical education.
Trained at the University Toulouse Jean Jaurès in France, he has built a career dedicated to clinical intervention, mentoring, and the promotion of mental health in both hospital and academic settings. While his research explores the bio‑psycho‑social determinants of depression in sickle cell disease, his primary commitment lies in clinical practice and the humanistic mentoring of healthcare professionals.
At Laquintinie Hospital in Douala, in addition to offering psychological care for in and outpatients, he serves as Mental Health Officer for staff, coordinating psychological support, crisis response, and other specialized programs.
At the University of Douala’s Medical School, he serves as a sentinel for students’ mental health, ensuring early detection, therapeutical support, while teaching medical psychology, and mentoring future physicians through doctoral and professional training programs.
