Mr. Mwangi Thuita

Mwangi Thuita most recently served as a Program Analyst at the Andrew Carnegie Foundation in New York, where he worked on conflict prevention, governance, and migration. His portfolio also included supporting Carnegie's Higher Education and Research in Africa work, which strengthens African universities and research institutions as engines of knowledge production and scholarly leadership. He takes particular interest in how emerging technologies, especially artificial intelligence, can reshape education, labor markets, and governance across the continent.

Prior to Carnegie, Thuita was a technical advisor at the Permanent Mission of Kenya to the United Nations. Earlier, he worked at the Social Science Research Council, where he supported programs advancing African scholarship in the social sciences. Thuita holds an MPP from the University of Chicago and a BA from Cornell University. He is a native of Nairobi, Kenya.
