Dr. Salsawit Tesfaye Yigrem

Dr. Salsawit Tesfaye Yigrem is a physician, medtech innovator, and healthcare systems design-thinking advocate focused on advancing context-driven health innovation in Africa. She is the Co-founder and CEO of InnoHeza Ltd., where she leads the development of maternal health technologies through human-centered and need-driven innovation methodologies. Her work centers on translating frontline clinical needs into scalable healthcare solutions for resource-constrained settings.

She is also the founder of the Corner for Healthcare Innovations (CHi), an initiative advancing multidisciplinary innovation in healthcare technology, medical education, and research. Dr. Salsawit is an East Africa Biodesign Fellow and has experience integrating 3D printing and emerging technologies into healthcare innovation ecosystems. Her work has received regional recognition, including awards for impactful innovation in Africa, and she is passionate about building sustainable MedTech ecosystems and training future African healthcare innovators.
