Dr. Tayechalem Moges

Dr Tayechalem Moges is Program Director of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program and Senior Faculty in Gender and Sexual and Reproductive Health at the University of Global Health Equity. She holds a PhD in International Law and the Humanities from the University of Melbourne.

Her research engages socio-legal studies, human rights law, feminist legal theory, and sexual and reproductive health and rights, with a focus on gender justice in African contexts. She examines the relationship between law, structural inequality, and health outcomes for women and girls.

She previously worked with UN Women, UNICEF, and Plan International, and served as Program Manager for the Ending Child Marriage Project in Eastern and Southern Africa. Her recent publications include “Forced evictions: development-induced displacement and the sexual and reproductive rights of African girls” and “Between silence and sight: advancing recognition of deafblindness disability in Rwanda and Sub-Saharan Africa” (The Lancet Regional Health – Africa, 2026).
