
Dr. Marvin Jansen
Dr Marvin Jansen is Head of the simulation Centre at the University of Cape Town and Founder and President of the African Simulation Network. He is a health professions education scholar with a strong focus on simulation-based education, clinical skills training, curriculum development, and faculty development in African contexts. His work centres on strengthening healthcare education through contextually responsive simulation, interprofessional learning, and collaborative networks across the continent. Dr Jansen has contributed to national and international simulation initiatives and is actively involved in developing partnerships that support sustainable simulation capacity in resource-constrained settings. He has published in the fields of healthcare simulation, emergency medicine education, and clinical skills development, and regularly contributes to conferences, workshops, and scholarly discussions on simulation in Africa. Through his leadership roles, he continues to advocate for African-led innovation, collaboration, and scholarship in health professions education.
